Quests, dark matter, and ranking¶
Quests¶
Open /quest after your first mine. The default ladder lists all 85 objectives, keys, and rewards. The live board is authoritative: operators can change targets, order, and rewards without a client release.
Quests measure the empire when the board is read. They do not reserve resources, expire, or need an explicit start. Measurements include building and research levels, owned units, sent fleets, planet count, and alliance membership.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
active |
Current progress is below the target |
ready |
Target reached, reward not settled |
claimed |
Reward settled once |
waived |
Legacy completed objective settled without payment |
Reading the board automatically pays ready objectives into the homeworld. The selected colony does not receive the reward. A completely full destination leaves a nonempty reward ready for a later read. If part fits, the game pays that part, marks the objective claimed, and discards the remainder. The server notice reports the actual grant and any loss. Make room before a board read when an important reward is due.
There is no repeated reward after cancellation, destruction, or rebuilding. A settled objective stays settled. Older accounts can have objectives waived that were already complete before the board was introduced. The claim API remains available, but ordinary play needs no claim command.
Dark matter¶
An open game event stream earns 0.02 dark matter per minute, or 1.2 per hour. A TUI or Commander connection can hold it open. A saved login token alone does not earn it. Multiple simultaneous connections do not multiply earnings.
The server credits fractions every ten minutes and also settles qualifying presence on reads and the last connection closing. Each uninterrupted session earns for at most 12 hours. This is a session limit, not a daily allowance. Economy speed does not change the rate.
| Action | Cost | Scope and limit |
|---|---|---|
/rush [queue ID] |
max(5, ceil(remaining minutes)) |
First row of one construction, shipyard, or research line |
/boost |
100 | Current planet, ×1.25 final resource rates for 24 hours, one active boost |
/rename name |
Free | Selected world, once per 24 hours |
Rushing spends the account's dark matter and finishes the chosen work. Research can also be rushed. Check the returned queue after the action. Renaming does not change coordinates or the permanent planet code. A boost does not add energy or storage. See economy for its exact rate calculation.
Ranking¶
Player score is floor(weighted invested resource value / 1000). It includes completed building levels, completed research, ships, and defenses. A leveled item's value includes the cost of all its completed levels. Unspent stocks and unfinished queue purchases do not count as completed investment.
Small Cargo, Large Cargo, Colony Ship, Recycler, and Espionage Probe count at half their resource cost. Other catalog items use full weight. Ships in outbound, holding, and returning fleets count too. Destruction and abandonment can reduce score. This is not a lifetime spending counter.
Public rankings can lag a recent action because they use a periodically refreshed score table. Equal scores order by player ID. Alliance score sums its current members. Player protection checks invested value, so a large unspent stockpile does not remove protection.
Use /leaderboard, Commander leaderboard, or the web ranking. The web supports a CSV export. Bot and human accounts can both appear. A simulated commander remains a game opponent with resources and fleets.
