Your first session¶
Install and connect¶
- Follow Install for your operating system.
- Run
tarmyand approve its browser sign-in. - Read
/planetand/planetsto identify the selected world. - Open
/questfor your next objective. - Use
/helpwhenever you need a command name.
The terminal has a resource bar, navigation groups, content tables, a command line, and a status rail. Tables support keyboard and mouse interaction. A selection can prefill a command. Read that command before submitting it. The command reference also works in the text REPL.
Make the first purchase¶
/resources shows the next cost, time, prerequisites, and energy effect. /upgrade metal_mine spends from the selected world immediately. /queue shows its ID and finish time. The server completes it after that time. Use /refresh, then /planet, to read the result.
Open /quest again after completion. Rewards arrive on the homeworld. Make room in storage before reading a ready reward: a partial payout discards the portion that does not fit.
Raise solar power when the next mine would lower the production factor. Then follow the board toward crystal, deuterium, Robotics, the laboratory, and the shipyard. The catalog uses stable English keys even in a translated client.
Read a locked purchase¶
A resource shortage means you need stock on this world. A prerequisite lock means a required level must finish first. A queue lock means its line is full or a conflicting facility upgrade is active. Waiting for resources does not resolve a missing prerequisite.
A mine can be affordable while it would cause an energy shortage. The preview shows that consequence. Storage also matters: if a price exceeds the production cap, waiting alone cannot reach it.
Build and send¶
When the displayed prerequisites are complete, /ships build small_cargo 1 orders one cargo ship. Wait for delivery. Read /fleet before sending any mission. A ship in flight cannot defend its origin or join another order.
Use fleet missions for cargo, target ownership, fuel, speed, and recall. Use combat before your first attack. Coordinates in examples are placeholders, not recommended live targets.
Continue or leave¶
/q exits without deleting the saved session. Mines, queued work, and flights continue while you are offline. Dark matter presence earnings stop when the last qualifying connection closes. Vacation is a separate account action with a 48-hour minimum.
On your next visit, read /fleet, /reports, /messages #server, and /queue. Then select the correct world before spending. Commander users should start with empire_overview, codex, and research_tree.
